As part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Join us in prayer and unity with Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., on Friday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, N.J. All are invited to a special Thanksgiving Mass celebrating the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Parishes around the country are encouraged to join the bishops in celebrating the consecration of our nation to the Sacred Heart.
Parishes within the Archdiocese of Newark are asked to designate two parish representatives here to carry the parish’s American flag and church banner into the Mass.
In preparation for this consecration, all are invited to participate in a Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus from June 3-11, 2026.
