The Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center's annual Thanksgiving Holiday Sleepover is back and will begin on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024.Sleepover Pickups are on Tuesday and Wednesday, 11/26 and 11/27, from 11:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Sleepover returns are TBD and will be announced once scheduled.

Holiday Sleepovers allow our dogs the opportunity to spend the holidays out of the shelter and in loving homes.
The shelter will provide you with all of the necessary supplies needed to care for your houseguest.

Everyone interested in participating is invited to pick up a shelter dog on Tuesday or Wednesday and offer them a loving home through the holiday weekend.
Our staff will work with each participant to ensure that we are answering any questions that you may have and to help you find the best fit for your home.

If you fall in love with your houseguest, congratulations!
All adoptions fees for sleepover participants will be completely waived and you can adopt your new best friend for just the cost of a dog license which is $18.

This is a first come, first serve event.
No appointments are needed. Walk-ins only.
Plan for larger than normal crowds and please be patient.
Do your homework! Having a list of multiple dogs that you are interested in meeting with will help expedite the process.
Check out available pets ahead of time by visiting our website at https://dogadoptions.franklincountyohio.gov/ . **Please note that our website provides real-time updates and will be updated as each dog is adopted or has left for a sleepover!

For their own safety and comfort, owned pets will not be permitted inside of the shelter.
If you need to bring your dog along for a meet and greet, please bring a friend or family member who can stay with your dog on leash while you are inside.
