Pre-registration is required for average verification. Please fill out a registration form and leave at the front desk or post on our wall with the number of bowlers you have.
What is a Baker Format tournament you ask?
~ The Baker Format is a team format where more than 1 bowler comprises the score of one game. For this tournament, a team consists of 5 people and each bowler will bowl 2 frames of each game. Bowler #1 bowls frames 1 and 6, Bowler #2 bowls frames 2 and 7, Bowler #3 bowls frames 3 and 8, Bowler #4 bowls frames 4 and 9 and Bowler #5 (often referred to as the anchor) bowls frames 5 and 10. The order is set at the beginning of the 1st game and can not be changed once tournament begins. In the event there are only 4 bowlers, the four bowlers will rotate through the roster (1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4...etc) throughout the entire event. This rule applies if a team member cannot continue due to an injury, illness, emergency, etc.
Rules:
~ UPDATED RULE: 10 games of qualifying will be bowled and the top 5 teams will enter into head-to-head stepladder rounds to determine winner (in most cases, 1 in 5 advance). High seed will select lane assignment in stepladder rounds. Single game elimination for first 3 rounds. Final round is best 2 of 3 games. Warm-up for qualifying teams will be on lanes 1 and 2. Feel free to warm-up anytime before your match. There will be no practice balls on the pair before your match. All stepladder rounds will be on lanes 5 & 6. A team can not bowl on the same lane consecutively.
~ UPDATED RULE: Lane change will be in effect and will occur after the completion of 5 games. After the first 5 games, you will trade sides with the other team on the pair. So, lane 5 will go to lane 6 after game 5, then bowl 5 games on lane 6. Please be mindful of when it is your turn and do not fall too far behind!
~ At any time during the tournament, a team altering/adjusting a score on their recap, will be excused from the tournament. Scores will be forfeited and will be disqualified from tournament. All scores will be verified prior to stepladder finals. Team will also be subject to further disciplinary action, including and not limited to participation of future events.
~ Entering averages are based on the following:
*Highest average for 2023-2024 (at least 21 games) if none,
*Highest average for 2022-2023 (at least 21 games) if none,
*Highest average for 2021-2022 (at least 21 games) if none,
*Highest current average from a current league with at least 21 games bowled. Please bring a current standing sheet to verify average.
*Otherwise, an entering average of 200 will be used.
~ The handicap will be 100% of the team's accumulated averages and the difference between 950 total team average (190 per game team average). A NEGATIVE handicap will be deducted from teams over 950. For example, a team enters with a 900 accumulated averages with a 180 average per game, will get 10 pins of handicap per game.
~ Attention Team Captains:
Check-in opens 1 hour before the event. Please check-in at least 15 minutes before warm-up. Please collect tournament fees from your team members and pay your team's entry. Once entry fee is paid, the Team Captain will draw for the starting lane assignment.

~ Current USBC Sanction Card not required.
