Thamesmead Tree Tour & Urban Forest Strategy workshop

The tour will take place on Saturday 25th October, and will start at 11am and finish at 1pm, at the Tump 53 Nature Reserve. During the tree tour we will identify the local trees together, both in park spaces and on the street, and talk about their relationship to the local environment of Thamesmead.

After the short tour (around 30-45 minutes), we will return to Tump 53 and hold a community workshop to develop an action plan through discussion and creative activities. It will be over to you as the residents of Thamesmead to share your ideas on how you'd like to engage more with Thamesmead's trees and how they can provide for everyone.

This is a plan which will help Peabody to manage, protect and enhance the urban forest, and support all those spend time in it. An urban forest means all the trees and woodlands in Thamesmead, but also the ecosystem of people and wildlife in and around those trees.
