WORKSHOP DETAILS

Purpose: Practice Botanical Arts Collage Design and Topiary Design for entry in the 2027 WANDERLUST Flower Show.

Botanical design collage is an abstract design created on a background panel/s with a dominance of components attached in a non-realistic arrangement. Components include plant material and other found objects. Staged in upright position on walls, easels or other vertical structures.

Botanical design topiaries are contrived tree forms having a visible trunk/s created by the exhibitor and embellished with cut plant material. Non-plant material may be used to embellish the topiary.

PLEASE BRING FOR COLLAGE DESIGN

• A background panel or panels suitable for upright display
• A variety of plant material — fresh, dried, or treated dried
• Found objects and other non-plant components to incorporate into your design
• Materials with interesting shapes, lines, colors, and textures

PLEASE BRING FOR TOPIARY DESIGN

• Materials to create a visible trunk for your topiary
• A stable base or container, plus floral foam, wire, or other appropriate support materials to keep your topiary upright
• Fresh, dried, or treated-dried cut plant material to embellish the topiary
• Non-plant materials for embellishment, if desired

BRING YOUR DESIGN TOOL KIT (especially CLIPPERS)

Clippers • Wire cutters • Floral knife • Florist wire & tape • Glue dots • Towel or work mat

SUPPLIES PROVIDED

Pam will provide U-glue, water tubes, Oasis, and some additional floral materials.
Please bring your own plant material and container.
