Textiles workshop

The St Giles' Textile Group continues the heritage of creativity, design and stitchery as exemplified in the many beautiful and exquisite examples of ecclesiastical textiles from the church by reviving this approach to Art Textiles for secular use. The Group meet at St Giles' Church on Castle Hill each month on the fourth Saturday from 10:30 until 12:30.

The Textile Group was established in 2017 with the aim of exploring a range of traditional and contemporary techniques through a design approach with colour, texture and technique all playing their part. Workshops are led by Margaret Waring (Textiles Society and Embroiderers’ Guild)

Please bring a basic sewing kit (needles, scissors) if you have one, otherwise all materials are provided. A donation of £10 to the Friends of St Giles' Church is suggested. Booking is not necessary, but does help to give us an idea of numbers. For more information on the group or attending, please contact [email protected]
