Textile Journey Festival - During Dublin Castle Exhibition 2024

The festival is a celebration of creativity and all things wool, and textile.

It includes a several events : demonstrations, open studios & workshops.

The festival is an invitation to everyone: try making or explore textiles.

We have demonstrations from some of the most loved Irish textile artists: Cosima Malloy, Niki Collier and Poala Bianchi. Come and enjoy the showcase of their skills.

We would have materials and tools exchange - swap bits from your stash and explore materials, tools and techniques that they have never tried before.

In our tradition we would have a sharing panel - an art installation made by the facilitators which would encourage every passer-by to participate in new artistic engagement.

Friday 25th Oct

10am -1pm - Upcycling with Niki & Crumlin Clothes Exchange

2 pm - 5pm - Knitting & Spinning with Imelda Quinlan and Cosima Malloy

Saturday 26th Oct

10am - 1pm Embroidery with Paola Bianchi - the embroider to the royals.

2pm – 5pm Felting with Niki Collier come and discover making of hidden treasures in felt

Sunday 27th Oct

10am -1pm Schmocking with Cosima Malloy

2pm – 5pm Interactive textile making with Rachel McKinney & Sarah Ross

Monday 27th Oct

10 am Artist Talk Developing of interactive textiles and pouring the magic of personal practice when sculpting with textile. Textile Journey group.
