About this Event

Crafting Collages in Embroidery Hoops with Rachel Carter

Join us at the Central Library and learn how to transform fabric samples, braids and embroidery techniques into stunning collages held in an embroidery hoop.

Rachel will guide you through the creative process, sharing insights and tips for crafting embroidery collage.

Additionally, you'll get an exclusive tour of his current group exhibition Speak Her Name currently on show in the library, gaining inspiration and a deeper understanding of the art form. As part of the broader initiative, “Standing In This Place,” this project emphasises the global cotton narrative, the Swadeshi movement in South Asia, and women’s roles in shaping shared histories.

Unleash your creativity and connect with your cultural roots in this hands-on, engaging workshop. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take your art work home.
