Texas Prison Reform- Public comment Prep

We will be hosting A public Comment PREP meeting the NIGHT BEFORE the TBCJ Meeting which allows community members to attend and provide 3 minutes of public comment to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.
***This PREP meeting is designed to offer affected community members an open opportunity to become more comfortable with providing public comment.
We will discuss:
How to provide respectful comments to be more impactful.
Practice run through w/ feedback
Emotional support
Real lived experience, the foundation for change.
Access to TPR Data for Data driven comments.
what to expect the day of the meeting.
Other organizations & advocates will be in attendance for roundtable talks allowing open discussion, experienced advice on personal concerns & networking opportunities.
We will also be in attendance the day of the TBCJ Meeting to provide continue support throughout this IMPORTANT opportunity!
Also, between the two dates selected by the board the one date for PUBLIC Comment date hasn't been selected HOWEVER The night before the selected date WILL BE THE PREP MEETING! The PREP Meeting will run from 4pm - 8pm
