Dr. John Lundberg will discuss the competing cultures and peoples that made up the Texas Lowcountry between 1822 and 1840. He will then explore the history of the enslavers and the enslaved between 1840 and 1865. To conclude his discussion, he will investigate the experiences of freed people in the region during the Reconstruction era in 1895.
