Unearth A Story: Summer Reading Program 2026 at Parrott-Wood Memorial Library

This summer, the Parrott-Wood Memorial Library invites children of all ages to embark on an exciting journey of discovery with the 2026 Summer Reading Program, themed "Unearth A Story." Beginning on Friday, June 5th at 10:00 am-12:00 pm, Gray Fossil Site’s Hands on Discovery Center will be at the library to kick off these enrichment programs. These immersive programs will run on Fridays through July 24th, culminating in a festive end-of-summer party at 10:00 am on the final day.

Participants will explore fascinating topics that span the natural world and American heritage. From the mysteries of dinosaurs and the allure of gemstones to the intrigue of fossils, children will engage with captivating stories and hands-on learning. The program also offers a virtual journey across the United States, uncovering treasures and tales from coast to coast.

Each session is designed to spark curiosity and creativity, encouraging young minds to dive into reading while connecting with history and science in a fun and educational setting.
