Tetra Pak Drypoint Printmaking Workshop
About this Event
Tetra Pak Drypoint Printmaking Workshop
Turn recycled packaging into beautiful original prints.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover the magic of intaglio printmaking using an everyday material: the humble Tetra Pak carton. By scratching directly into recycled packaging and printing from the incised surface, you'll explore the rich lines, textures, and unexpected qualities of drypoint printmaking.
Using a pasta machine adapted as a miniature printing press, you'll create your own A6 printing plate and produce a small series of unique prints to take home. Along the way, you'll learn the fundamentals of intaglio printing and experiment with sustainable, low-cost techniques that can be continued beyond the workshop.
What you'll learn:
- The basics of intaglio and drypoint printmaking
- How to prepare and engrave a Tetra Pak printing plate
- Techniques for creating line, texture, and tone
- How to ink, wipe, and print your plate
- Sustainable approaches to printmaking using recycled materials
What you'll make:
- An A6 Tetra Pak drypoint plate
- A selection of original printed impressions to take home
Suitable for:
- Complete beginners
- Creative adults and young people (16+)
- Anyone interested in printmaking, drawing, or sustainable art practices
All materials are provided. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
