CONNECTION RETREATS FEEDBACK & TESTIMONIALS

The following is just a small sample of the feedback we have received after our previous Connection Retreats events:

“I've been meaning to write to you for quite some time. My impetus for finally contacting you today was the realization that perhaps you would take my lack of attendance at the upcoming Simchas Torah event as a sign that I wasn't happy with the experience I had over Shavuos. But nothing could be further from the truth. As a relatively recent divorcee, that event was my first ever singles event, in my life. Needless to say, I arrived with much trepidation and was quite anxious in the pre-yom tov afternoon hours. Since that time, however, I have owed you a tremendous thank you because my anticipation did not in any way match what I ended up experiencing. Even from my uninitiated perspective, it was clear that a tremendous amount of thought and energy was invested in every aspect of the event. The hours of the days were accounted for in a creative and productive way. I personally enjoyed myself and the atmosphere of the yom tov as a whole. People had peppered me with horror stories of singles events gone wrong, both before Shavuos and since. Based on what they have described, your event stood out from the crowd. It was clearly a place that mature, marriage minded people had gathered. I'm certain that's because of the tone you had set at your previous events. I wanted to thank you and your team for a great experience. Additionally, I wanted to tell you that I met someone over Shavuos and we have been dating since then, thank G-d. For that of course as well, WE owe you a tremendous THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!”

“Shumi & Yitz, I just wanted to thank you for an amazing simchas torah weekend. You created a warm and welcoming environment where people were able to come and be themselves in a non judgmental manner. As a side note I really enjoyed having a full kabalas shabbos on Friday night (led by Shumi). That is my favorite prayer of the week and I have missed not hearing Lecha Dodi for the past month (with Rosh Hahshana, Yom Kipur and Sukos)! (The sfardim got this one right...) In the z'chus of what you created, may G-d bless you with all that you deserve.”

“Thanks for a great weekend. I have to say that I went in somewhat skeptical and was inspired and moved by the results. The structure that was put in place allowed me to connect to people I may have not been able to - and that turned out to be a real gift - because I met wonderful people. I can’t remember the last time I spend three days with such developed and sweet people in an environment that was Torah minded and conducive to meaningful connections. What a combination! Kol Hakavod! I think you and Rivki really pulled together the vision you described to me - and the weekend was really wonderful.”

“Dear Yitz, I've attended all of your events and plan on coming to the upcoming shavuaton. The energy you and Rivki put into creating an atmosphere of achdus among the participants is so clear. At each event there's a feeling of community, a shared desire for learning and spiritual elevation, and strong connections with friends old and new. I've come out of each event with new friendships and connections that continue to be meaningful.Kol hakovod to you for organizing events that bring together special people celebrating the yomtovim together. Wishing you continued hatzlacha in all your efforts.”

“Dear Yitz, I can imagine you are completely exhausted and drained after giving your heart and soul to create such a beautiful experience for us all! I so admire your level of caring and devotion to others. …I wanted to take a few moments to tell you why I am so glad I came and some gifts I received from the retreat, though the experience is too rich to fully express in words.…It was such a diverse group of people and yet it really came together in community and achdus without judgment, or cliquey-ness. That in and of itself brings more blessing and kedusha to our world.…I had deep rich conversations with many people. I made some soul-sister-friends, and am so enriched to know them and look forward to continuing these relationships.”

“Yitz, Hi, just got home and wanted to thank you again for putting together such an incredible weekend! You really have a gift of creating a very warm, comfortable and inviting atmosphere that was such a pleasure to be apart of. I live in a wonderful community but since it's much more family oriented, when it comes to Simchas Torah, I usually don't end up going to shul because as a single person it's challenging to feel apart of the holiday festivities. After celebrating Simchas Torah with such a special group of people that you put together, it was by far the NICEST Simchas Torah I've ever had since I became observant 14 years ago. I really felt a connection and a strong sense of community with all the people that attended the weekend! Thank you and may we see many good things come out of this fabulous weekend with all the hard work that you and your incredible team put together. Thanks again!!!!!!”

“Yitz, Just a note to thank you and your whole crew for a wonderful weekend. The amount of time and effort that went into putting that together was very evident, and much appreciated. I may not have any other singles weekend events to compare it to, but I will say, that it definitely changed my perceptions of what they are like (for the better!)”

“Hi Yitz, I wanted to thank you for a wonderful retreat. You and Rebecca outdid yourselves. I think the chevrah is really great. I really believe you guys should think about creating an organization. I believe there would be funding for it.”

“You have that magic touch Yitz. Something about your events makes them so amazingly warm and comfortable. It truly starts to feel like family, perhaps extended family, but family nonetheless :)”
