test plan, from the UK!
Established in 2022, North London’s **test plan** are searching for the sweet spot between dancing and moshing. The trio — Rory Dickinson, Michalis Fragkiadakis and Max Mason — channel a ferocious blend of noise-rock, dance-punk and scuzzy post-punk, where hypnotic basslines, overloaded guitars, pounding drums and frantic vocals collide in a relentless wall of sound. Equal parts groove and abrasion, their music is built for packed rooms, blown speakers and the beautiful chaos of a live crowd.
Since their debut single, *So Bored at Your Squat Rave* (2023), test plan have steadily carved out a place in the UK’s underground scene. Follow-up singles *Walking in a Vacuum* (2024), *It’s Not Enough* (2024), *My Teeth* (2025) and *Gone* (2025) have pushed their sound into increasingly volatile territory, pairing infectious rhythms with distorted, nightmarish intensity. Their uncompromising DIY approach has taken them across the UK, Europe and the US, sharing stages with the likes of A Place to Bury Strangers, Snapped Ankles, Pulled Apart By Horses, And So I Watch You From Afar and The Black Lips.
In 2026, the band continued to capture the raw power of their live shows with *Live In Darkness One*, a live session recorded in a temporary North London rehearsal space, bringing together four tracks alongside *Gone*. The session arrived alongside a vinyl edition of *Four Songs*, collecting their first four singles. With their sound rooted in the physicality of the underground but driven by an undeniable urge to move, test plan remain a band best experienced at full volume — somewhere between the dancefloor and the pit.
