Terry Loncaric's first full-length collection of poetry, Poetry in an Age of Panic, has been released by Kelsay Books. She is also the author of Crashing in Velvet, a chapbook, for Finishing Line Press. Loncaric has hosted and read poetry in events at cafes, libraries, schools, and even a farm. Her poems have appeared in magazines, newspapers, anthologies, and public spaces. Her poem, "Smiling Virgin Mary," received a first place citation from the Northbrook Arts Commission. Another poem,"To Be a Tree," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. A resident of Hampshire, Ill., the author feels her poems offer "intense moments of clarity" and "peaceful bombs of truth." As the featured poet for Highland Park Poetry, Loncaric will read selections from her latest collection of poems -- Poetry in an Age of Panic.
Open-mic immediately follows. Poets may bring up to 3 poems (each poem not to exceed one page) to share.
