Terran's Sunday Movie Night is taking you somewhere strange this week: inside John Malkovich. This week we're watching 1999's "Being John Malkovich", directed by Spike Jonze and written by Charlie Kaufman. Jonze and Kaufman's surreal comedy is a one of a kind picture, and worth checking out for anyone who's interested in the bizarre and insightful. Guests are encouraged to arrive around 18:00, with lights going down at 18:20. There will be a brief presentation, and then a discussion will be held. As always, popcorn will be provided, but guests are welcome to bring any other snacks or drinks they might want.
"Being John Malkovich" follows unemployed puppeteer and all around sad sack Craig Schwartz (played by an almost unrecognizable John Cusack), who one day discovers a secret passage that allows those who enter it to take control of actor John Malkovich (playing himself). This kicks off a series of surreal, comedic, and pathetic events that should leave you intrigued and entertained in equal parts. In some ways this film feels more relevant than ever.
