Zapraszamy na wystawę malarstwa Ewa Szeremeta – absolwentki Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie (1997).
Twórczość artystki oscyluje wokół uważnej obserwacji rzeczywistości – natury, wielkomiejskich kadrów oraz portretów. Szczególne miejsce zajmuje w niej motyw podróży i zapis ulotnej chwili – pejzaże widziane z perspektywy kierowcy lub pasażera, zmieniające się dynamicznie za szybą autobusu, pociągu czy podmiejskiego busa.
W swoich pracach Ewa Szeremeta łączy realizm z elementami osobistej narracji. Obok pejzaży pojawiają się charakterystyczne „znaki drogowe” – obrazy będące komentarzem do prywatnego życia artystki. Jednym z nich jest „CV” – kompozycja stylizowana na tablicę przystankową, w której kolejne etapy życia stają się symbolicznymi punktami na trasie.
Artystka sięga również do wątków związanych ze swoim podlaskim pochodzeniem, tworząc prace inspirowane stylistyką ikon. Jej obrazy wyróżniają się intensywną kolorystyką, wyrazistymi kontrastami oraz statyczną kompozycją, przełamywaną elementami iluzji – fragmenty przedstawień zdają się wychodzić poza ramę obrazu, zacierając granicę między malarstwem a przestrzenią widza.
Charakterystycznym elementem jej twórczości są także malowane obramienia, geometryczne i literowe szablony wprowadzające nutę abstrakcji oraz subtelne interwencje trójwymiarowe – jak wklejane w powierzchnię płótna błyszczące detale.
Tytuł wystawy nawiązuje do nowego etapu w życiu artystki – powrotu do malarstwa po 30 latach przerwy. To opowieść o odwadze, zmianie i pytaniu, które staje się jej motywem przewodnim: czy po 55. roku życia wciąż można zacząć od nowa?

We invite you to a painting exhibition by Ewa Szeremeta – a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1997).
The artist’s work revolves around careful observation of reality – nature, urban scenes, and portraits. A central theme is travel and the capturing of fleeting moments: landscapes seen from the perspective of a driver or passenger, dynamically changing outside the window of a bus, train, or suburban shuttle.
In her works, Ewa Szeremeta combines realism with elements of personal narrative. Alongside landscapes, distinctive “road signs” appear – paintings that serve as commentary on the artist’s private life. One of them, “CV”, is a composition styled as a bus stop board, where successive stages of life become symbolic stops along a route.
The artist also draws on themes related to her Podlasie heritage, creating works inspired by the stylistics of icons. Her paintings are characterized by vivid colors, strong contrasts, and static compositions enriched with elements of illusion – parts of the depicted figures seem to extend beyond the inner frame, blurring the boundary between the painted space and the viewer’s reality.
A distinctive feature of her work is the use of painted frames, as well as geometric and typographic stencils that introduce elements of abstraction. She also incorporates subtle three-dimensional interventions, such as small shimmering details embedded into the surface of the canvas.
The title of the exhibition refers to a new chapter in the artist’s life – a return to painting after a 30-year break. It is a story about courage, change, and a question that becomes its central theme: is it still possible to start anew after the age of 55?
