Tempests & Tribulations, Chronicle 3 of Austin Vampire LARP continues!
For centuries, vampiric tradition has been kept by the Camarilla and its Princes, the most paramount being The Masquerade: convincing the waking world that vampires do not walk in their shadows. The clans, ancient vampiric families, vie for power and influence amongst themselves, creating intricate rituals of government to beguile and betray each other. Our chronicle takes place in 1997 Austin. Bat City: where sunset causes the largest urban bat colony to swarm from beneath Congress Street Bridge. Unluckily for the mortals in this era-before social media, before the proliferation of the World Wide Web, before the Second Inquisition-that’s not the only creature swarming beneath them.
Vampire: The Masquerade is a Gothic Horror Game where you have the opportunity to play as a Vampire struggling against the mortal world, other vampires, and your own unnatural hunger. This is a game high in politicking and interpersonal drama amongst the monstrous and grotesque.
Austin Vampire LARP is a Nordic-Style, Rules-Light LARP. Consent in storytelling will always be our number one priority, with dice acting as a mediator rather than a storyteller. We do our best to make sure you stay in the action, immersed in the world you are building.

About The Scottish Rite Theatre
Austin Scottish Rite Theater is an Austin gem – a fully operational modern theater thriving within a stunning historic landmark. SRT is Austin’s oldest theater, erected in 1871, the same year Austin became the capitol of Texas. For forty years it was a German opera house; then in 1914 it became the home of the Scottish Rite Masons who treasured the site and remain watchful tenants of the building. In 2004 the Masons created the non-profit theater organization that exists today; nestled amid the State Capitol, University of Texas, and Austin’s museum district, we at Scottish Rite are dedicated to building community through the arts. We provide quality shows for all ages, with enriching programming for children. For almost a century and a half, innumerable artists and events of all kinds have graced our venue, from the operas and circus trapeze acts that wowed crowds during the 19th Century to the live world music and multimedia children’s programming that delight Austinites today.
