Tegernsee: Alpine Weekend Hike from Berlin

Enjoy a weekend getaway in the Bavarian Alps, eating in traditional Alms, hiking up mountains, and visiting one of the country's most beautiful lakes, Tegernsee. During the weekend, you’ll stay in a traditional Bavarian Mountain hut and journey through one of the area’s most beautiful regions, enjoying stunning views and food from the mountains above.

WHY GO?

The weekend is a great introduction to mountain hiking for experienced hikers, and a wonderful experience for those looking to start. The Bavarian Prealps (Bayerischen Voralpen) make for a beautiful area to hike around, are and perfect for hikers of all experience levels.

On Friday night, you will meet up with your tour guide and hiking group and travel down to Munich, where we will check in for the night.

On Saturday morning, after enjoying breakfast, we will start the 15km hike up to the Lenggries Mountain Hut. Here we will ascend to our first summit, enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner, and stay overnight.

On the final day, we will hike to Tegernsee, one of Bavaria’s most popular, clean, and beautiful lakes. Along the way, climbing another summit will be optional. We will also stop for lunch at a Bavarian Alm. Time permitting, we will swim in the waters as well. The views from the lake, looking out towards the mountains, are some of the best on offer. Finally, we will take a boat across the lake, where the hike will conclude at the Tegernsee station, where we will start the journey back to Berlin.
