Teens Super Smash Bros. Tournament and Pizza Party
About this Event
This event is in-person at Melrose Library in the teen center (lower level). 8 players will face off to determine who is the best at Smash Bros!
Pre-registration online or in-person is required to compete. This program is intended for teens ages 13-18. Space is limited, so sign up soon!
Join our tournament to challenge yourself or your friends to an intense competition on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch! Make new friends, learn the best strategies, and prove yourself as the best player! Teens will play, discuss, and explore video games that incorporate their favorite characters, stories, and mechanics.
There is no entry fee to compete in the tournament, participation is free. Food and drinks will be available for players and spectators while supplies last.
We have an accessible entrance, elevator, and a single-person/family restoom on each floor.
Tournament rules:
🎮Players must follow library policies and practice good sportsmanship.
🎮Players are responsible for returning borrowed controllers to the librarian at the end of the tournament.
🎮Players must not take controllers outside of the teen center program room.
Game rules:
🕹️Up to eight players will compete in a high stakes, double-elimination bracket to determine a winner.
🕹️Each round is best of three. Each game is three stocks with a five minute time limit.
🕹️No items. A random battlefield or omega stage will be selected for each game.
🕹️All characters available on our copy of the game are legal.
🕹️Players who lose two rounds or are over five minutes late for a round will be eliminated.
