Get ready to spin some clay! In this 6-week class just for teens ages 12+, students will learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel—from centering and shaping to trimming and glazing. Whether you’re brand new to the wheel or already have some experience, this class will help you build your skills and confidence while creating your own functional pottery pieces like cups, bowls, and more.
Our instructors will guide you step-by-step through each stage of the process, offering plenty of tips and hands-on support along the way. It’s the perfect blend of creativity, focus, and (yes!) a little bit of clay-splattered fun.
Students will be able to pick the glaze color of their choice for their pieces. SCCA staff will fire and glaze all pieces following the class. Participants will be emailed when their pieces are complete and ready for pickup. This takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
