Teen Court is an innovative program which allows some juvenile violators of the law that have admitted guilt to come before their peers instead of going through the normal judicial process to tell their side of the story and receive out of court sanctions.
This court stresses that positive peer pressure will be able to correct illegal behavior in youths.
The participants make the program unique in that everyone in the courtroom except the judge and coordinator is a student.
Volunteer students get to be the jurors, clerks, or bailiffs.
