About this Event
Founded in 2009, TEDxManchester was one of the first TEDx events in the UK. Since then its grown to be one of the world's largest and most recognised TEDx events. Thus far, six TEDxManchester speakers have gone on to be featured on the main TED.com homepage or invited to speak at the main TED Conference in Vancouver, Canada.
At its most basic, TEDxManchester will feature 12 handpicked speakers & performers who we believe will fill our day with fascinating insights on a wide range of topics such as..
- how a new subatomic particle may be about to change physics as we know it
- a superhuman ability to detect disease by smell
- the extraordinary health benefits of 'fidgeting'
- what's it like to win an Olympic gold medal
- could we help reach 'net zero emissions' by mimicking nature
- how do we tame fear in order to reach our peak potential
But the TEDxManchester experience is much more than just the sum of its parts. We believe the net effect of hearing about these fascinating topics, delivered by passionate & talented speakers in a world class venue will help us collectively reconnect with our 'growth mindsets'.

Seats are unreserved but purchasable by section within the Bridgewater Hall. Please note, due to the height of The Auditorium we recommend attendees who suffer from vertigo or any other related illnesses do not purchase tickets in the Gallery tier.

Refund Policy - full refunds are available until 30 days before the event, Thursday, 2 February 2023. Refund requests received after this date can apply for a transfer to TEDxManchester 2024. Name changes permitted until 5pm, Friday 24 February 2023.
