About this Event
Gather together your picnic baskets and blankets, snacks, water bottles, and, of course, teddy bears!
Students are encouraged to arrive in disguise, as the song advises, “If you go down in the woods today, you better go in disguise”.
Each family is asked to bring a blanket and books to read to new friends and their bears.Feel free to bring sunglasses for your bear, hairbrushes to groom them, games to play with them, etc. Families will be encouraged to share their ideas and bear supplies with other students
Students will make a Teddy Bear mask that will help with their “disguise”. Parents may want to bring chairs to sit near their students in blanket area.
We encourage you to submit a work sample highlighting what your student learned from this field trip during your next learning period. It helps to ensure that we can continue to provide these opportunities.
Heartland field trips are designed for families to attend together. Students need to be accompanied by an adult chaperone. If your student will be attending with another family, please let the field trip host know once you complete your registration.
**To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you, your student(s), or anyone in your household is ill or showing possible signs of illness.**
May I pay using my funds? This field trip is FREE!
Does this trip have any height, weight, and/or age restrictions? All ages are welcome. Each person who attends a field trip or event must be registered through Eventbrite. This applies to babies, toddlers, siblings, and adults. Individuals who have not registered will be asked to leave
Check-in Procedures: Sign in under pavilion, then set up your picnic area with your friends and their bears!
Is there on-site parking available? Parking is available in the lot, as well as along streets.
Can we pack snacks or lunch for this event or field trip? Yes.
Please do not bring food that contains peanuts to any Heartland event.
