Join us for our Windy City Charity Golf Outing at the beautiful Odyssey Golf Course on Saturday August 17th. We are celebrating the legacy of golf pioneer and golf trailblazer Ted Rhodes and raising funds for 2 great golf programs. Ted is the 1st African American professional golfer in the modern era to play in the US Open (1948).

This will be a great day of golf fun and food. Participate as a foursome or sponsor. This year's event will raise funds for the Foundation's Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU) Golf Educational Fund and Junior Golf Programming. The benefactors include HBCU School Fisk University Golf Program and junior golf program First Tee of Greater Chicago.

The outing format is a four person scramble (taking the best shot from each player in the group). There will be a Closest to the Pin contest and Skins game. After play concludes there will be a 19th Hole Celebration with food drinks and music.

Registration for golfers, sponsors, non-golfers, and donors can be done via the event website.

ABOUT TED RHODES FOUNDATION

The Ted Rhodes Foundation is a non-profit (501c3) organization that was founded in 1993 by Peggy Rhodes-White. The mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of golfing pioneer Theodore “Ted” Rhodes.

Ted Rhodes’ vision was to make the game of golf open to all races. The Foundation is honoring his vision and moving the game of golf forward by introducing the great game of golf to youth in the urban areas and creating pipelines of minority golfers and minorities working in the golf industry. The Foundation hosts educational events, golf clinics, and golf tournaments for youth (Ages 5-18) and adults.

The Foundation provides financial support annually to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) golf programs and golf team members to help further this mission. HBCU School Fisk University Golf Program is one of our partners and benefactors. Our annual donation to the golf program has helped to provide scholarships, purchase uniforms, and additional needs.

The Foundation partners with local urban youth golf programs, such as the First Tee Programs in Chicago, Indiana, Tennessee, and Florida. The youth initiatives are part of our Future Golfers of America “Growing the Champions of Tomorrow” Program.

This year's event will raise funds for the Foundation's HBCU Golf Educational Fund and Junior Golf Programming. The benefactors include HBCU School Fisk University Golf Program and First Tee of Greater Chicago.
