If you have watched the Sewing Bee you will know all about pattern matching! And you probably have a lot of questions too.When do I need to pattern match? What are the different methods? How do I match the fabrics accurately?
Well, we have the answers to all of your questions so join us and let's add some new skills to your sewing portfolio.
You will learn how to:
Measure the pattern repeat on your fabric;
Work out the pattern balance;
Decide whether or not to pattern match;
Recognise the nap/direction of your fabric;
Calculate how much extra fabric is needed for pattern matching;
Decide which are the most important seams to pattern match;
Find the best point to pattern match on curved seams;
Cut out practice samples using 3 different methods; and
How to accurately pin and stitch your seams.
Skill Level: Confident beginner:
Suitable for anyone that can sew basic items such as cushion covers and tote bags.
You must be able to cut out fabric without assistance.
