About this Event
Ever wondered what it would be like to be the Master of a ship? Well here's your chance. The Southern Joint Branch have arranged a technical visit to Warsash Maritime Simulation Centre which is the UK's largest ship and port simulation centre. You'll get the opportunity to try out their new world-class facilities which have recently been upgraded as part of Solent University's £43 million investment in maritime training facilities.

Warsash Maritime School has provided maritime education, training and consultancy to the maritime and offshore industries for over 70 years. The Maritime Simulation Centre offers specialist training for ship's officers, harbour masters, pilots, port superintendents and a range of other maritime professionals. The centre was built with the latest in Wartsila technology and everything is networked for joint exercises. Their facilities include 8 full-mission navigational bridges, full-mission dynamic positioning simulator and 6 DP stations, a full mission engine room simulator and more.
Please note that the Maritime Simulation Centre is located in the Andrews Building at Solent University in Southampton and not at Warsash. Please also ensure that you arrive in good time as we will not be able to accommodate late arrivals.
