This Tech20:

Robotic systems are a crucial tool for conducting operations in areas that are inaccessible or hazardous to humans. Autonomous Devices is leading on the Demeter project, which will use autonomous subsea robots to continuously collect and analyse data without the need for expensive, high-maintenance, energy intensive infrastructure. Demeter aims to shift the way we conduct undersea monitoring from manual, expensive, and low-frequency data retrieval to automated, inexpensive, high frequency and on-demand intelligence retrieval.

In this Tech20, Ken Wahren will discuss how the Demeter project will lower the cost and environmental impact of utilising both renewable and non-renewable offshore resources. The project also has the potential for further applications in maritime security operations, including maritime surveillance.
