Tech Hours 2023

Tech Hours (www.techhours.ca) is an immersive 1-day techathon and tech conference being held at McMaster University. Early acceptance closes May 7 - Regular Acceptance closes May 19

NOTE: all students that wish to attend must submit an application on www.techhours.ca

Techathon:

1. 20 teams of 3-5 will create their own tech start-ups. The goal? Solve a global problem with technology. There will be a variety of prompts that teams can choose from.

2. Teams will follow a 4-hour structured program led by mentors to build their start-up/idea from the ground up. Throughout the program, students will submit milestones for evaluation that’ll count towards their final score.

3. Teams have 10 minutes to pitch their tech solution to an experienced judge and answer questions. The presentation will count towards their final score. There will be prizes for winning teams in a variety of categories.

Tech Conference:

1. Students will learn about emerging technologies from industry leaders and innovators in a variety of tech fields.

2. 3 half-hour long keynotes with 3 different speakers will take place during the tech conference portion of the event.
