On June 24th, WEtech Alliance's Tech Connect Meetup returns with a special Innovation District Edition, celebrating the people, organizations, and technologies shaping the future of Windsor-Essex.
Hosted by WEtech Alliance and powered by Rocket Innovation Studio, this outdoor community celebration takes place from 2pm to 6pm on Ferry Street, between Pitt Street and Chatham Street, in front of Greenshield Hall and Rocket Innovation Studio in Downtown Windsor.
The event will feature the official unveiling of the new Innovation District banners, marking an exciting milestone for the region's growing innovation ecosystem. This collaborative initiative brings together partners including Rocket Innovation Studio, the University of Windsor, St. Clair College, Invest WindsorEssex, OVIN and OCI to showcase Windsor-Essex as a destination for innovation, entrepreneurship, and advanced technology.
What to Expect:
This free, family-friendly event will transform Ferry Street into an interactive showcase of innovation, featuring cutting-edge technologies and demonstrations from some of the region's most exciting companies, organizations, and post-secondary institutions.
Highlights include:
• A special appearance by the APMA's Project Arrow 2.0 vehicles, Vector and Borealis, Canada's next-generation zero-emission concept vehicles.
• Interactive displays and activations featuring robotics, drones, advanced mobility technologies, and other groundbreaking innovations from Windsor-Essex SMEs operating in the automobility and advanced manufacturing sectors.
• The University of Windsor Formula Electric Team showcasing their student-designed and built electric race car.
• Opportunities to connect with local entrepreneurs, innovators, students, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners helping drive the region's innovation economy forward.
• The official Innovation District banner unveiling ceremony, celebrating a new chapter for downtown Windsor's innovation corridor.
Food will be available for purchase from the Whamburg food truck, serving up delicious eats throughout the afternoon.
