Down Home is excited to announce our new TEAM SERIES!
Team series is a quarterly throw down designed to give bragging rights to the best team in the region, and then challenges them to come back and keep it!! Each team will be made up of 4 CrossFitters.
How It works:
Workouts are designed to where there are no RX or Scale categories. All teams will compete amongst each other on a point scale. 4 workouts + a ‘pop up WOD’ are guaranteed to all teams with the top 4 teams going on to the final workout.
Teams will consist of any combination of male/female crossfitters. 2 Males and 2 Females. 0 Males and 4 Females. 1 Male and 3 Females. Etc. (Multipliers etc. will be added to female weight scores to create an even playing field with male weights when appropriate)
Registration:
Teams Must be registered by Friday October 1st.
The price of the competition is $350/team including shirts/tank for each individual competitor.
Refunds can be given to a team up to, two weeks before the competition, but not after.

Team check in will start from 8-8:30a.m with the first heat starting at 9a.m. The competition is set to be over at around 2p.m.
WODS:
WoD 1: “Balls To The Wall”
AMRAP 14 Minutes
60 Wallballs (20/14)
Sprint
15 Plate Burpees
Sprint

Balls to the wall is a 14 Minute AMRAP. Only one athlete may work at a time.

3-2-1 go – The team will complete 60 wallballs, after completion of the final wallball an athlete will move/sprint a single weight plate from the starting location to a designated location across the gym. The team will then complete 15 plate burpees on that stack, then an athlete will sprint back to tag the wall to designate the team starting the next set of wall balls. Each subsequent round a new plate will be added on top of the plate moved from the previous round, increasing the burpee plate height each round.


WoD 2: “Max Snatch”

9 Minutes:
The “best” lift from each athlete will be added for a Snatch Total. Any snatch variation is acceptable: Full Snatch, Hang Snatch, Power Snatch, Hang Power Snatch, Split Snatch.
“best” is defined as highest weight
Females will have a 1.5x multiplier applied

WoD: 3:
WoD 3 will consist of a total of 4 rounds alternating between 3 Min AMLAPs and AMRAPs. One male and female bar per team. Only one athlete may work at a time. Females will have a 1.5x multiplier applied to their loads.

AMLAP (Load) 3 Min:
Power Snatch (Minimum Load 55 lbs)
Weights can change at will in this WOD. For instance, athlete A can start with 95 for a few reps, then athlete B can switch to 115, then athlete A can go to 75, athlete C 185 etc. Judges will be recording weights and rep count. The total load (weight of bar A, B, C, D etc x reps at each weight) will be calculated post-wod for the total score for this portion of WOD 3.

AMRAP Rounds) 3 Min:
Bike (Male 9 calories = “1 round”; Female 5 calories = “1 round”)
One athlete must complete a “whole chunk” (9 calories for males, 5 for females). In other words, you can’t split the 9/5 amongst the team. An athlete may however, complete 18 (male) and 10 (female) which would count as 2 “rounds”. Only one bike per team. Upon completion of the 3:00, only completed chunks will count toward total rounds. Calorie target must be achieved before athlete can exit the bike (so no “roll-over”). Display will also be cleared between all switches.

AMLAP 3 Min:
Thruster (Minimum Load 55)
Weights can change at will in this WOD. For instance, athlete A can start with 95 for a few reps, then athlete B can switch to 115, then athlete A can go to 75, athlete C 185 etc. Judges will be recording weights and rep count. The total load (weight of bar A, B, C, D etc x reps at each weight) will be calculated post-wod for the total score for this portion of WOD 3.

AMRAP 3 Min:
Box Over Burpee (24/20)
Athlete must complete their rep before any other teammate initiates their burpee. Step ups are allowed. Box facing, lateral, or any other configuration is acceptable. Both feet must make contact on top of the box. The performing athlete’s hands cannot at any point touch the box during a rep. A completed rep occurs when the performing athlete’s feet both touch the ground after coming off the box.

POP UP WOD
Max unbroken double unders. Once 3-2-1 is called, each athlete will get ONE attempt at a max unbroken set. The best score from each team will be used for ranking. This pop up wod is not weighted as much as the other wods, but could potentially be the difference between making the final and not.




WoD 4: “Pit Stop”

Pit Stop is a speed clean ladder style workout. Co-ed teams will have a male and female bar. Weight will be changed pit crew style by team members. Only one athlete may work at a time. The athlete that starts the ladder segment must finish the segment, for example 7 is the first segment of the first round, 6 is the second segment, so on and forth. As quickly as possible each team will complete each clean ladder at weights of team choice.

Scoring will equal total load moved of each round minus total time to complete all rounds. E.g. the first round 7-6-5 may look as follows: 7 x 150 (1,050) - 6 x 175 (1,050) - 5 x 200 (1,000) = 3,100. Females will have a 1.5x multiplier applied to their loads.
Let’s assume for simplicity sake that each round accumulated 3,100 lbs of load. Let’s assume the total wod time was 9:30. Convert that to seconds (570). Total score would be (Total load (3,100x5) of 15,500 minus total time (9 x 60 +30) of 570 to equal 14,930. If that all seems confusing, don’t worry - the administrators will be doing the calculations for you!


WoD 5: “Girls Gone Wild”
This is the “final” wod and will include the top 4 teams.
