Join us for Teaching with Art at Virginia MOCA, part of a free professional development series created for educators of all grade levels and subject areas. This program, focusing on our current exhibition the Where We Meet, aims to equip teachers with helpful tools and takeaway resources for using contemporary artwork in their curriculum and classrooms.
Co-led by Virginia MOCA Manager of School & Educator Programs, Katherine Custer, and exhibiting artist Jean Benvenuto, this session invites teachers to look closely at works of art in the galleries, uncover ideation strategies artists use, and experiment with creative processes. Participants will leave with practical tools that can help sharpen observation, reflection, and expression in any classroom.
