Teaching about Consent & Managing Disclosures of Sexual Assault

Aims to understand how to effectively embed the topic of consent within the broader PSHE curriculum and to feel confident managing disclosures related to sexual assault

• Understand the importance of adopting a holistic approach to educating about consent including gender, social norms and bystander approach
• Identify a spiral curriculum approach to teaching consent
• Explore the current context of sexual assault in the UK & learn about the effects of sexual assault
• Build on confidence regarding how to react to a sexual assault disclosure and follow up

We offer free and confidential relationship and sexual health services to those under 25 at our Brook Clinics across the UK. London Sexual Violence Education at Brook

Thanks to generous funding from NHS England, the London Sexual Violence team provides 60 free hours of support to young people (aged 14-25) and professionals on topics related to sexual violence. This support is available in various educational settings across London, including secondary schools, PRUs, and youth projects.
