About this Event
MSJI are so excited to host Dr Fatima Rajina in December for a powerful teach-in and workshop.
Join us as we explore how dominant narratives shaped by the global war on terror have influenced the relationships that we hold with our clothing choices and the language we use as British Muslims.
In her new book, ‘British Bangladeshi Muslims in the East End: The Changing Landscape of Dress and Language’, Dr Fatima seeks to challenge the multiple ways Muslims have navigated through a security-focused lens that has shaped much of the discourse for and about diaspora Muslims in the past two decades.
Tickets for the workshop are £3 and include hot food.
We encourage anyone who may need a free solidarity ticket to DM us.
Please note that MSJI's first priority is always to safeguard the wellbeing of staff, volunteers, and participants. With this in mind, MSJI reserves the right to refuse or refund tickets at its discretion. Any decision to do so is not made lightly and will only ever be on the basis of safeguarding.
We are keen to ensure our services are as inclusive as possible, so if there are any accessibility issues, or barriers to costs or providing personal information when signing up, please email [email protected] and we'll help as much as we can.
