About this Event
Welcome in Spring with an afternoon of tea tasting, tea blending and seasonal celebrations with Leeya Warrander of Mikaku Tea.
Honouring the Japanese term ‘sense of taste’, Mikaku Tea brings together a fusion of organic roots, leaves, fruits, and flowers, in their truest expression.
In celebration of Chris Weaver’s 30 years of making impeccable teapots, and the many examples included in Teapot Meditations, participants are invited to explore the taste and effects of a variety of teas before conjuring and taking home their own unique blend.
Join us for an afternoon of mindful nourishment, ritual, and ceremony thanks to Mikaku Tea.
Limited tickets for this workshop are $30. Come as you are, all materials will be provided. This workshop is not suitable for people under 16 years old.

Leeya Warrander is a passionate tea drinker, gardener and creator. It was her vision to create a range of teas for wholesale and home use that were completely natural and free from artificial sweeteners and enhancers, and so Mikaku Tea was born. Mikaku has been organically growing for the last ten years and offering organic teas in a variety of forms for Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad. Weaving Leeya’s personal practice of meditation and mindfulness, she started offering tea workshops to explore and experience tea in a different way. She shares,“When we slow down and consider and explore the action of drinking a cup of tea, it becomes a way to connect with ourselves, quiet the mind, be present, and honour the journey that each component has taken in order to be in our cup.”
