One of Tāmaki Makaurau’s most beloved Matariki celebrations returns this July, transforming the entire length of Karangahape Road into a free, road-wide journey of light, music, storytelling and connection.
Te Karanga-a-Hape invites communities from across Tāmaki Makaurau and beyond to gather, reflect and celebrate the Māori New Year together. Come be warm with your whānau and immerse yourself in the unique mauri of Karangahape Road.
What you will discover:

Taonga toi special art installations
Pūoro sound, music & live performances
Wānanga spaces to make, gather and reflect
Kanikani & movement throughout the night
