Join us for a warm, reflective workshop exploring the Te Ao Māori values of Tika and Pono -
values that guide how we act, relate, and show up with integrity.
Tika speaks to what is right, just, and appropriate in a given context. Pono calls us to
truthfulness, honesty, and alignment between our values and our actions.
Together, these values invite us to slow down, reflect, and consider:
 What does “doing the right thing” really mean?
 How do we act with integrity when things are complex or uncomfortable?
 How can tika and pono support ethical decision-making, accountability, and trust?
Through guided kōrero/sharing and gentle practices, we’ll deepen our understanding of how these values can shape how we can all move forward together in our communities in Aotearoa.
Come as you are, open to learn in a warm environment as Te Tiriti partners and together we’ll rediscover the power of care, reciprocity, and meaningful connection through the deep
wisdom of Te Ao Māori/the Māori world.
This is a Community Circle so all genders are welcome (encouraged) to attend.
Dr Annie Southern has taught Indigenous concepts including Māori concepts from the position of tangata Tiriti in other settings acknowledging the responsibility of tangata Tiriti
to understand the world of tangata whenua.
She is committed as tauiwi to developing community underpinned by a commitment to the
founding principles of this country.
All concepts and words will be explained.
No prior knowledge is needed.
*Certificate provided.
