TDBCN Meetup: UI System & Creative Practice in TouchDesigner w/ Malena Goya
About this Event
Summer break is over and TDBCN is back at it again with our monthly meetups! You know the drill: open projector night, chitchats and a special guest sharing their valuable insights about our favorite software.
This September 24th, Malena Goya - aka vvirdev - will be joining us with a talk about how she fell down the TouchDesigner rabbit hole, her vision of the software, and how it became the centre of her PhD research. The talk will revolve around her workflow and how she uses TD to reflect, or try to understand(?)) creative practices while aiming to answer the question, where do we stand technologically today?
She'll also walk through the UI Engine making process, her new modular tool, and there will be time during the session for anyone who brings their laptop to get hands-on, try it out, and take it with them to keep using in their own projects.
Malena Goya (vvirDev) is a new media artist and PhD researcher working with TouchDesigner. Her practice explores how low-level tools can resist opaque technology, foster hybrid relationships between human and machine, and turn artistic creation into a space for understanding the frictions of a new paradigm. Through her work, she builds tools, installations, and experiences that question how we relate to the software we use.
So see you all soon🌞
