About this Training

Designed for students, teachers, clinicians, and survivors, this introductory-level training covers key research, theories, and practical techniques to integrate TCTSY principles into your personal life, yoga teaching, or clinical practice as a healing tool for trauma.

While this training does not qualify participants to facilitate TCTSY, it offers a strong foundation for making your current scope of practice more trauma-informed and supportive for those you serve. It can also be a great next step toward the 20-hour TCTSY Foundational Training if you would like to continue your learning journey, which is a prerequisite for the 300-hour Certification Program.

The TCTSY model has been developed, utilized, and researched since 2002, with consistently positive outcomes for trauma survivors. More broadly, it is part of a growing movement in the mental health field that recognizes the importance of engaging the body in the healing process - especially in cases where talk-based approaches may be less effective.

This training also qualifies for 4 continuing education (CE) hours with Yoga Alliance.

About the Facilitator

Hello and welcome! I’m Pamela Sue (she/her), and I have been honored to support individuals in both the yoga and mental health fields since 2016.

During this time, I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Aurora University and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois. While in graduate school, I also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga by Degrees, and have since advanced to an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance. I’m also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), which allows me to offer training and continuing education for other yoga teachers.

In addition, I completed the 300-hour certification program in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) through the Center for Trauma & Embodiment. I thoughtfully integrate this training into both my clinical therapy work and my yoga offerings, supporting a trauma-informed, body-first approach to healing.
