Join the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) for a regional training session showcasing the results and tools developed through FloridaCommerce's Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) Extreme Rainfall Modeling initiative.
This training is designed for professionals involved in planning, stormwater management, emergency management, resilience, GIS, floodplain management, public works, and related fields. Participants will learn how to access and apply new regional resources that support flood mitigation planning and improve resilience to future extreme rainfall events.
Training Objectives
During this session, participants will:

- Explore the project's key deliverables and available planning tools.
- Learn how these resources can support local stormwater management, hazard mitigation, resilience planning, and grant development efforts.
- Discover where to access project data, mapping applications, and additional technical resources for future use.
About the Project
Originally launched in 2020, the Advancing Mitigation Assessment and Planning Through Regional Collaboration initiative was created to address an important gap in resilience planning by focusing on inland and rural communities affected by extreme rainfall flooding. While resilience efforts have historically emphasized Florida's coastal communities, many inland counties have experienced significant flooding impacts from intense rainfall and tropical systems.
Funded through FloridaCommerce's Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program, this multi-year initiative established a standardized, collaborative approach to assessing future extreme rainfall risk across multiple regions of Florida. By using consistent methodologies and fostering partnerships among regional planning councils, state agencies, universities, and local governments, the project provides communities with practical tools to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize mitigation projects, and strengthen long-term resilience.
