About Our Speaker:
James Dickey
Former Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas and Regional Vice President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, James Dickey has a long history of advocating for conservative causes, including Second Amendment rights, the right to life, and school choice.
His work with ONE Nuclear to bring Rolls-Royce small modular reactor technology to Texas exposed him to the state's data center power challenges, leading him to found the industry daily Hyperscale News. He currently serves on a water board and previously served on the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission's Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee.
He holds degrees in political science and English from Stanford University and an MBA from Baylor University, hosts the podcast Winning On Issues, and lives in Spicewood, Texas, with his wife Lynda and their three children.

What if the outcome of the November election depended on one simple thing you did today?
That may sound like an exaggeration.
But many elections have been decided by remarkably small margins, and even the most reliable polling suggests this November will likely be no different.
Every successful campaign is built on strong candidates, generous donors, committed precinct chairs, and ordinary people who choose to do something.
In the last gubernatorial election, nearly 579,000 Tarrant County voters cast a ballot. With such a large number of voters impacting an election, it is hard to believe that one person or one vote can make any difference at all.
Polling data aside, the story of the November 2026 Election is still being written. Every person who chooses to do their part will help shape the outcome. Every voter reached through door-knocking, texting, phone calls, or personal conversations is an opportunity to earn support for our candidates.
One simple action may seem insignificant on its own, but when multiplied by many people over weeks and months, it becomes a powerful force.
Edward Everett Hale captured this truth perfectly when he wrote: "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. And by the grace of God, I will.”
Those words describe exactly who we are as an organization.
Most of us aren’t professional activists, campaign staff or political consultants. We’re parents, grandparents, veterans, business owners, retirees, and working men and women who care deeply about the future of our community, our state, and our nation. We vote. We stay informed. We serve where we can.
But sometimes we aren’t sure where to begin or how to best use our time.
The good news is that success in November won't require us to make extraordinary efforts. It will depend on each of us taking small, consistent actions to touch one voter at a time.
One simple action may seem insignificant on its own, but when multiplied by hundreds of people over weeks and months, it becomes a powerful force. That is how campaigns gain momentum. And that is how close elections are won.
So here’s a challenge for every member of TCRA:
Commit to one small action each day between now and Election Day.
Not a hundred phone calls. Not hundreds of doors. Just one meaningful action every day.
If you’re wondering where to begin, we’ve made it easy.
We invite every TCRA member to download the Abbott Impact App.
The app takes the guesswork out of how to get involved by providing simple, practical tools you can use in the "nooks and crannies" of your day. Whether you have five minutes or an hour, the app makes it easy to engage with voters wherever you are.
If you're new to the app, the "Flag Spotting" activity is the perfect place to start. It's straightforward and it's a great way to get comfortable using the app.
Here's how "Flag Spotting" works:
As you drive or walk through your neighborhood, use the app to identify homes displaying a U.S. or Texas flag. That’s it! It’s easy and even more fun if you ride with someone who can enter the information while you drive. I usually take my teenage son and make it a fun activity to do together -- with a treat afterwards.
What's the big deal about houses with flags?
I'm so glad you asked!
Research indicates that households displaying a U.S. flag are 5 times more likely to support Republican candidates. While no indicator is perfect, identifying these homes can help campaigns better understand where likely supporters may be located and communicate with them more effectively.
As a bonus, the Abbott campaign will recognize the top 100 volunteers who identify the most flag locations. While that contest ends on July 15, TCRA will continue the challenge by recognizing the TCRA member who identifies the most flag locations.

Here’s all you have to do:
✓ Download the Abbott Impact App by taking a picture of the QR code (see image in column at right) or clicking on the following link: https://abbottimpact.org/app
✓ Complete at least one task each day.
✓ Select “Independence Day Flag Spotting”
✓ Select “Go to Door Knock”
✓ Select “Flag Spotting”
✓ The app will update your location and display nearby houses by street name or by map view.
✓ As you tag houses, the app will track your score in the bottom right corner of the screen. You receive 1 point for each house you tag.
✓ Invite a friend to do the same thing and turn it into a friendly competition!
Besides Flag Spotting, the Abbott Impact app makes it easy to send text messages, make voter calls without sharing your personal phone number, complete door-knocking surveys, and remind people to vote….at the touch of a button.
No one person can do everything. But each of us can do something.
One small action may not seem like much. But one action you take today , combined with one action I take today, multiplied by hundreds of people over the next few months, becomes something far greater than any one of us could accomplish alone.

But we do know this: close elections are won when ordinary people decide that their small actions are worth taking.

Use the red buttons in the message below, to let us know your preference for training before the TCRA meeting, after the meeting, or if you prefer not to have it on the same day as a TCRA meeting.
The training is 45 minutes long.
So, if we scheduled training before the TCRA meeting, we need to start by 6pm. If after the meeting, training would be from 8pm til 8:45pm. (Sunset is around 8:10pm)
Or we could schedule the training on another day altogether.
