TC.KYLIE

Hong Kong-born, London-based keyboardist and composer TC.KYLIE makes her Leeds debut at The Domino Club with two high-energy full-band sets.

Piano, synths and her signature keytar drive a mix of cinematic jazz fusion, Japanese jazz-rock and acid grooves. The show will preview her forthcoming debut album, RE:conciliation, alongside music from her first EP, RE:birth.

A former journalist at Hong Kong’s public broadcaster RTHK, TC.KYLIE brings a documentarian’s eye for narrative and emotional detail to instrumental music, turning it into sonic storytelling. Her music bridges the keyboard-led jazz-fusion virtuosity of Hiromi Uehara and Shaun Martin with the explosive momentum of Japanese jazz-rock acts fox capture plan and jizue, reshaped through SEGA retro-gaming textures and Studio Ghibli-like warmth. 

Recent live highlights include sold-out UK and European dates and performances at Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs, A-Trane Berlin and the V&A Performance Festival.

Jazz Journal described her first EP, RE:birth, as “a lovely mix of European and Asian influences… reminiscent of a Studio Ghibli soundtrack,” and called it “immersive” and “the sonic equivalent of a sunrise.”
