TBRI an Overview: Trust-Based Relational Intervention is an attachment-based, trauma- informed, whole child approach to meeting needs of the children and youth who have experienced early adversity, toxic stress, and/or relational trauma. Together we will review practical parenting tools, based on the three main principles of TBRI: Connection, Empowerment, and Correction.
Lunch & Childcare is provided, but childcare spots are limited. We have a waitlist once childcare is full. We will ask families confirm their attendance for childcare spots 2 weeks before the training. After registering, if you are no longer able to come, please let us know. ([email protected] or text 309-305-9888). Childcare priority will be given to families affected by foster care.
Please note: the workshop is open to the public, but geared toward families in the tri-county area. Business Professionals and Foster Parents can receive a certificate of completion for attending. Foster Parents may turn in certificates to agencies for continuing education credit, credit is up to agency discretion.
Presented by:
- Bethany Figg, BSW, LSW (TBRI Practitioner)
About the Trainer: Bethany was born and raised in Peoria, IL and has spent both her professional and personal life loving her city and trying to improve the lives of those often overlooked. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Illinois State University in 2013, Bethany began her career in child welfare, specializing in private and international adoption as well as working with expectant parents. In 2016, Bethany completed extensive coursework through Texas Christian University and earned the title of (TBRI) Practitioner. In 2019, Bethany began to blend personal and professional strengths by becoming a licensed foster parent alongside her wonderfully supportive husband, Caleb. Bethany left the professional world of child welfare and is working as a Social Worker in the medical field with adults that have social barriers to accessing medical care. Bethany and her husband reside in Dunlap, Illinois along with their two children. Her two wild and precious kids have taught Bethany more about resilience, joy, and overcoming than any book, degree, or training ever could.
