Valeria (Hunter Thompson & ZENA)
Valeria (she/her) - Heidelberg/Saarbrücken
Valeria is an Italian/German DJ and producer based in Heidelberg, Germany. Describing her style as subtly flashy, Valeria always seems to find the right balance of poise and nuance in her high energy sets.
She discovered her love for house music and the club scene during her uni days in Saarbrücken, where she became a resident at both Hunter Thompson Saloon and Silodom Club. The close-knitted, raw music scene and overall community in Saarbrücken heavily shaped Valeria’s sound and influenced her in her musical endeavors.
Being a member of the feminist Dj collective ZENA, the empowerment and exposure of FLINTA* artists plays a key role in her work as a DJ, radio host and promoter. ZENA‘s commitment to increasing visibility of women, trans and non-binary people in the music scene was a jumpstart for Valeria herself when she first moved to Heidelberg and was introduced to ZENA.
Growing up in an Italian household in the south of Germany, Valeria’s taste is heavily inspired by the music that was always being played in her childhood home. In her teenage years, she became fascinated with Psychedelic Rock, Synth Wave, and, of course, Indie Rock. Her diverse input of music from throughout her life, has taken form in a clearly distinguishable style of electronic music. Her vast library allows her to play with a great deal of range, while always bringing that signature subtly flashy flavor! Valeria’s sets are energetic, groovy, dreamy and they always hit that sweet spot.
Having such a vast library made it nearly impossible to categorize her style into a specific genre and even though her sound is prevalently house-oriented, Valeria wanted to create a platform in which DJs could showcase a different, yet undiscovered side of them. She started co-hosting her own monthly radio show called Pancake Enorme on Sphere Radio Leipzig - the motto being „play what you normally don‘t get to play“. The sets are followed by short interviews about the DJs themselves and the gems they‘ve been patiently sitting on.

da:sypoda is a DJ, soundartist, booker, cultural collaborator, artistic researcher and co-host of the "TBD - To be defined" events at Schick, Mainz together with dom.waits.
She played venues in the Rhein-Main-Region like Schick, Dorett Bar, Haus Mainusch in Mainz or Pracht in Frankfurt and Festivals like the AA near Worms or the AWARA Festival in Baden-Wuerttemberg. For more than 3 years she has been playing mixed devices and is also now planing events with the Al Forno Kollektiv. Her sound is influenced by a various genre mixing, starting from Deep House, Disco and House to Dub infused Baile Funk, Dembow, Deep Tec, Breakbeat and Experimental. As a genre fluid artist, who also works with IDA FLUX as sound artist and performer on the balance of bodily involvement and improvisations, her sets are always percussive and with a deep and playful selection of ear opening break outs, as an invitation to step out of comfort zones and move into deep listening.
For this special night she packed her bag with housy vinyl selections and driven classics out of the early 80's and 90's, pop edits out of the 2000's and drum tooling move operators.

Dom Waits (Schick · Outro Podcast)
Resident im Schick Mainz (to be defined mit da:sypoda) und Host der Night On Earth Party-Reihe, bewegt sich nach fast 20 Jahren DJing zwischen stilvollem Tech House, UK Garage und Breakbeats. Bei seinen Live-Sets bespielt Dom 4 Decks und verbindet Samples, Melodien, Vocals und Loops aus unterschiedlichen Tunes zu einem hochintensiven Mix und garniert knackige Beats unter anderem mit eigenen Edits.
