San Francisco’s June ballot has become a high-stakes referendum on how the city taxes its largest employers. Labor leaders say higher corporate taxes are needed to close a looming budget deficit and protect public services. Business leaders warn those same increases could push companies out of the city.

She is a member of San Francisco’s Sunshine Ordinance Task Force and a member of the board of directors of the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She has worked as a nonprofit consultant and freelance editor. She was previously a business writer at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where she covered retail and real estate. Lila has an M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in international relations from Stanford University.

• If you drive, there are several garages within two blocks of the event location; free street parking is available across from the venue at 7:00 pm
