TAUPE

is a trio from Glasgow that delivers an unpredictable mix of math, avant-garde, and no-wave. Their music combines jarring sonic textures, free improvisation, and heavy, doom-like riffs into a sound that is both chaotic and razor-sharp. With a strong DIY ethos, they move effortlessly from raw sonic explosions to tight ensemble playing.

The band formed in 2012 when Mike Parr-Burman, Jamie Stockbridge, and drummer Adam Stapleford met while studying music in Newcastle. Since then, they have released Fill Up Your Lungs and Bellow (2017), the EP Get The Keys (2019), and Not Blue Light (2020), among others.

Taupe received airplay on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 3 and has played at festivals across Europe, including REWIRE in The Hague. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Deerhoof, Richard Dawson & Circle, and Melt-Banana. With drummer Alex Palmer, who joined the band in 2023, Taupe continues to work on new material, which was presented live at REWIRE 2025, among other venues.

Taupe kreeg airplay op BBC 6 Music en BBC Radio 3 en speelde op festivals in heel Europa, waaronder REWIRE in Den Haag.
