TATS FOR BATS FLASH EVENT AND FUNDRAISER
Houndstooth Tattoo Hosts Third Annual "Tats for Bats" Fundraiser Benefiting Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation
Philadelphia tattoo artists partner with the Philadelphia Zoo Keepers Association to support native bat conservation through community art.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — [August2 3, 2026] — Houndstooth Tattoo is proud to announce the return of its annual Tats for Bats fundraiser, now in its third year, benefiting Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation in partnership with the Philadelphia Zoo Keepers Association.
The event will take place on Saturday August 8th from 12pm - 8pm at Houndstooth Tattoo, located at 1022 Buttonwood St, where guests can choose from a collection of exclusive bat-inspired flash tattoos created specifically for the event. A portion of every tattoo purchased will be donated directly to Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation to support the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of Pennsylvania's native bat species.
What began as a small fundraising event has grown into an annual tradition that combines art, community, and wildlife conservation. The event raises awareness about the vital role bats play in healthy ecosystems while providing meaningful financial support for organizations dedicated to protecting these often misunderstood animals.
"Bats are some of the most important—and misunderstood—animals in our ecosystem," said Evan Lovett, co-owner of Houndstooth Tattoo and Executive Director of V.U.R.T. "This event gives people a chance to support conservation in a memorable way while helping protect species that are critical to our environment."
Pennsylvania's native bat populations have experienced dramatic declines due to habitat loss and White-nose Syndrome, a fungal disease that has devastated bat colonies throughout North America. Healthy bat populations provide enormous ecological benefits by consuming insects and helping maintain balanced ecosystems.
Representatives from the Philadelphia Zoo Keepers Association and Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation will also be participating in the event, helping educate visitors about bat conservation and the important work being done to protect native wildlife.
"Tats for Bats demonstrates how creative communities can make a real difference for wildlife," said Pennsylvania Bat Conservation & Rehabilitation. "Every tattoo helps us continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and educating the public about Pennsylvania's incredible bat species."
The event is open to the public, and tattoos will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests interested in supporting conservation without receiving a tattoo are also encouraged to attend and make a donation.
