Tater Tots Bike Camp

Riding a bicycle is putting the soul in motion. At Tater Tots Pediatric Therapy, we truly believe that the freedom and independence of riding a bicycle is something that every child should have the opportunity to experience. For some children this means needing a helping hand to support them and be a cheerleader as they take the falls that inevitably come along with the learning process. For others it means needing to have adaptive equipment available and having professionals present to help them use that equipment appropriately. Still others may need to have someone to help them communicate their needs and to understand when they are overwhelmed and need to take a break.
Tater Tots is gearing up for our 5th annual bike camp from June 15-June 19 of this year. Over the past 4 years of offering this event we have been able to provide the supports mentioned above to help children of different ages and ability levels get on a bike and learn to ride. Our program is unique in that we bring years of experience in childhood development to support typically developing children, as well as children with a wide range of developmental disabilities. Our therapy staff then works to train local volunteers to help support riders and assist with riders who require more supports. We are able to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone who is participating is working towards the same goal, and by the end of the program our goal is to have built a stronger community.
