About this Event
Cacao comes from the theobroma cacao tree, ones which only grow in tropical countries. But did you know that 99% of the chocolate we eat is made in Europe and the USA? Come learn about that other 1% while we celebrate the work of Grown in Haiti and Phoenix Community Garden!
Hosted by Diego’s Chocolate from Guatemala, Taste the World Through Chocolate invites you to explore the diverse origins of cacao. Discover how the terroir of each region shapes the flavor profiles of these artisanal chocolates. This unique experience will open your palate to a world of tastes beyond the familiar European & US makers. Try delectable dark chocolates made in Guatemala, Haiti, and elsewhere around the world.
Inform your indulgences. This event is more than just a tasting—it's about connecting with cultures and supporting local communities turning cocoa into chocolate themselves.
The event will take place at Phoenix Community Garden. The following subway stops are nearby:
C - Rockaway Ave (closest)
A/C/J/Z - Broadway junction
L - Bushwick Ave/Aberdeen St.
**A portion of proceeds will go to support the various programs run by Grown in Haiti around agroreforestation, education, and community development in Cap Rouge.
