Taste of the County at San Mateo County Event Center

Update: Due to high demand, online ticket sales will end on Oct. 2nd 12 PM. A limited supply of tickets will be available to purchase at the door on the day of the event.

The San Mateo County Health Foundation (SMCHF) is thrilled to announce our 1st Annual Taste of the County event which will be hosted outdoors at the San Mateo County Event Center. During the pandemic, many restaurants rose to the occasion. They donated tens of thousands of meals that were able to feed county families in need and healthcare heroes at San Mateo Medical Center. This amazing example of community spirit inspired us to invite all of you to enjoy the delicious food prepared by the same wonderful restaurants.

The best part is each admission ticket or buddy pack (4 VIP tickets) you purchase will be donated to our Foundation, be used to support programs that provide healthcare access to 80,000 people a year, and allow you to taste the food served during the event. For those who wish to purchase multiple tickets simply adjust the quantity on the dropdown menu or buy the buddy pack.

• Promotion: All sponsors will receive county-wide promotion on banners, posters, the web, social media, and signage all across the Event Center. • Meal Train Orders: Restaurant sponsors will be added to our Meal Train rotation and we will purchase food to feed departments of 40 or more healthcare workers at San Mateo Medical Center.
• Free Wine Tasting: Presenting, Gold, and Silver business sponsors will be invited to a free wine tasting and thank you event at Cuvée Wine Cellars in San Carlos.
• Sponsor Basket: Sponsors will receive a basket that may include an SMCHF hat or hoodie, treats to enjoy, and other fun surprises.

Since 1989, the San Mateo County Health Foundation has supported the county hospital in its mission of making sure every citizen has access to healthcare regardless of their ability to pay. The Foundation Supporter Family has been instrumental in helping provide this to the 80,000 underinsured and uninsured patients that walk through the doors of the Medical Center every year.

During 2020-2021, Foundation Supporters allowed us to contribute over 100,000 PPE to healthcare frontliners, 95,000 diapers to county families, over 15,000 meals for Medical Center staff and households diagnosed with COVID, and critical funding for Medical Center equipment.
